Wher has the Summer Gone

Do you ever feel like you are busy all the time
but not quite sure what you have been doing?

WE had a great summer with a few mishaps. ( Marley
getting her baby teeth pulled, and me crashing the
Van. But we are healthy and very blessed.
My kids are now in school and they both love it (until
Kaiya has to do her homework instead of Play!-AKA
social butterfly) I am just going to post some pictures of
our summer with some quotes!

Matt ran another ultra Marathon in Grand Targhee
We had so much fun! We rode up the chair lift, had
picnics, cheered our dad on, swam, played on bounce
toys, met new wonderful friends, and Kaiya and Taj
ran there first race up in the mountains through the
trees. They both got medals. bubble treats and other
prizes.

Matt had enough energy after the race to give the kids
a ride in the wheel barrow. We are so proud of Matt
and his amazing accomplishments! Our Dad is a superhero!!!

My mom and dad came to cheer Matt on. We love them so much
and are so thankful for all they do for us. They helped lots with
the kids! Matt loved hearing my dad cheer for him as he passed
through the base station in between loops. My dad is the biggest
sports fan no matter what sport he is always there to support his
family.

WE met fun friends. Truly kindred spirits Kaiya and Taj had so
much fun with cute Rivers and Everest. It was cute Taj and
Everest kept forgetting each others name. So they would say
hey where is my friend. I want to play with that friend.
We went to the children s muesuem with Jenny and her cute kids
when they were in town, and my friend Meagan came with us too
with her adorable abigale

Kaiya and Taj Firsts days of School!

Who needs a swimming pool when you have a cooler and a
Tupperware bin this is how Taj, Kaiya, Gage, Eden and Marley
kept cool this summer.

We went to the young family farm for lavender days. It was
so much fun lots to do! playground, tea parties, wagon rides,
pony rides, rock climbing, jousting, lavender ice cream and much
more.

Had to post one of little bug who is getting big so fast she is
so much fun and the cutest thing ever!

Talk about craziness

Two days ago about 7:00 a.m Marley was heading up the stairs as usual. She has a fetish with stairs! As some of you know we have wicked wood stairs so every time Marley goes by them I take her away and put up the gate! This particular Morning Matt was right by her. Matt turned away for just a moment and Marley started to fall. She fell down three stairs when Daddy caught her but the damage had already been done. Blood was pouring out of her mouth. She just barley got her two bottom front teeth(the only teeth she has) they were knocked down into her gums and forward. Her gums have a big laceration. I called the doctor to bring her in. I gave Marley some Ibuprofen and left the bottle on the counter with the lid on! I went to go get dressed and came back out and saw marley playing with an empty bottle of Ibuprofen(which was more than half way full) I started to freak out! she didn't drink it cuz it would have been poured down the front of her and she would have smelled like grape medicine. Taj was over in the corner with a little smile on his face. ( about six months ago he drank 1/4 of a bottle of benedryl and we spent all day in the emergency room watching him cuz it could cause seizures and comas. so you can imagine I was so worried) he almost drank a whole bottle I was crying and told him he can't do that cuz I don't want him to die! Then he knew I was serious and that it was not so funny that mom was freaking out and crying and he started to frown( which is good cuz I want him to know this is serious stuff) I called poison control( great people who work there very caring!) He said ibuprofen is different than benedryl and that he would have had to drink 1 and 1/2 bottles for it to be toxic to his little body. ( He felt great all day nothing he did could hurt :) ) So I was relieved, but still had Marley to deal with. We ended up having to take her to a pediatric dentist and he said she has a 50/50 chance of keeping her teeth, but he felt like we would probably have to pull them. How sad! We go in a week to see if hopefully they have reattached to the gums if not, she will not have teeth there until she is 5 or 6! Marley as you know is so Happy and still is. This has not affected the way she is. She still is smiley and says Hi to everyone. She even started to walk yesterday! so cute Her is a clip of her first day of cruising around the house.

The Fourth of July

This post is a little late, it is almost the 24th of July. I just wanted
to express my feelings for our country. I am proud to be an
American and am so thankful for the brave men and women who
fight for us. I am so thankful for the freedoms that we have.
Matt had the day of work so we went to Matt Aunt and Uncles
property up in the Uintas for the day! It was absolutely beautiful.
We rode 4 wheelers, went kayaking in the pond, roasted
marshmallows, and visited with our family!

Thank You Debbie and Jessie! We had so much fun!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Little Bug

Time flies by. Marley is sooooo cute and fun I love this age!!!
here she is with her Lion she gives it kisses everyday!! It
plays music and she dances. She has the cutest moves!
Here she is with her butterfly cake! She did not like the way it
tasted but she loved to squish it between her fingers!

Marley loves cell phones !
she loves to open and close mine cuz it makes a noise and she
ruined matts by sucking on it so she got a baby cell phone for her
birthday and absolutely loves it! she puts it to her ear and says
hi! She is very perfective of her phone and of course taj likes
to take from her to hear her scream. Marley is so loving and
will give lots of kisses and even blow you one too! Happy

Being A Mom

I just wanted to express my feelings about being a mom
I really do love it! I cherish every moment with my kids
well only the moments when I am not getting mad at
them! I am so blessed to have such smart, cute, funny,
imaginative kids! I think having children is one of the greatest
gifts heavenly father has given me! I know I am not perfect
I want my children to know that I love them and that I would
do anything for them. I love to hear stories about other children
and how you moms and dads raise them. It is hard being
a parent and knowing if you are teaching your children
the best way. Or if you are being too hard on them. I guess
you learn from experiences. All that I have to say is poor
Kaiya.We expect so much from her. I think she is turning out
great she is doing so good about doing her chores and practicing
her piano without me even having to ask. Even the other day
she came and apologized to me for having a bad attitude. She is
growing up way to fast! She is a good friends to others. Dont get me
wrong Kaiya can have her moments, but she grows from them
and so do we. We love her so much!

Taj Has so much personality His imagination is growing and growing
every day. He comes up with the funniest stories. He loves animals,
most of all horses and dogs! His new thing is that he wants a dog that
can do karate and name him Dho Jho. He still tells me he loves me
more than once every day! Now he says " I will never talk back to
you ok mom". So cute. He has a lisp we need to help him with it but
I love it so much!!!

Marley is so happy most of the time she is smiling,
but she is starting to get a little attitude. She is still
not walking, but is really close. Yesterday when Matt
got home from work the moment she saw him she
squealed and started kicking her legs. It was so cute!
she loves to play with her daddy. She says ma ma and
dad. and she says Taj a lot. She is so much fun our little bug.
We are excited to have more kids and
grow as a family.

We went to Lagoon on memorial day! When we got there it was very rainy. but ended up being a great day. No crowds and lots of fun.
Kaiya is very brave! she went on every ride and on wicked twice. Taj would go to we tried

I can not believe that Kaiyas' Kindergarten year is coming to an end! She loves school
very much and has the best cutest teacher ever. This last week is a party week with themw today
she dressed up like a pirate all by herself. Then I added the finishing touch the black
tooth. At school she said the other kids said it was gross and that you should not make fun of
peoples bad teeth . So she went and washed it off! She had a fun day and asked why she was the only one who dressed up. So I told her she has the most spirit!!! And she does have lots of spirit! I am proud to be her mom.

Taj Loves Me

Taj is such a fun boy! He is getting a little rebelious, but just a tiny bit. I know he loves me cuz he tells me at least every hour and most of the time more. For example he will be watching a movie and yell MOM I LOVE YOU! or he will come in the room holding fruit snacks behind his back and say i love you can i have these! or we will be in the car and he just says mom I love you! It is so rewarding being a mom when these cute little ones tell you how much they love you! I have to tell you real quick what Taj said. I was putting him to bed and asking him questions. Like what do you want to be when you grow up? Taj said " A dad" Where are you going to get married? "In the temple" What do you think is inside the temple" (expecting him to say furniture or tell me!) Taj said " Mom the Holy Spirit is in the Temple and I can feel the Holy spirit" Our kids are so precious and are so close to our heavenly father. This reminded me that I need to be more like a child!

Run Kaiya Run

Kaiya and some friends in our neighborhood signed up to do this fun challenge. They have to run, walk or jog 26.2 miles by july 5th. and then they get a t-shirt, a pass to the hogle zoo and get to go to a party at the end to raise awareness of the importance of fitness for Utah children! She is so excited and the first thing she asks to do when she gets home from school is to run around the park I am so proud of her! I wish I had opportunities like this when I was a kid!

Those of you who know matt He is always ready for any occasion! Matt came upstairs with Tattooed arms a black Mustache, tight rocker shirt and cowboy hat. I told him he looked more like a country star than a rock star(Alan Jackson). He was not too happy about my comment , but he ended up being a true Rocker as the night went on until 3 a.m. It was so much fun!!

I Wanted to write About Kaiya today. Bless Her big heart I feel Like I am so hard on her sometimes. She has the most wonderful qualities that I want to share First of all she has a special spot for children or those with special needs. when she was about 4 years old we went to lake powell with my family. Another family also came who had a 6 year old daughter who was severly handicap , she could not walk, talk, or eat. Her mom and Dad fed her through a tube. We were all out playing on the beach with all the other kids. I looked around and could not find Kaiya, Panicked I ran inside the house boat to find Kaiya lying on the floor next to this sweet little girl singing to her and playing with her. I often get notes from Kaiyas school teacher saying that she is such a good friend to others! I am so proud of here! Kaiya has wonderful faith. When I was 2 months pregnant with Marley I had some bleeding so I told Kaiya that we were probably not going to have a baby ( I had just gone through 3 miscariages in a row) . Later that day I walked by kaiyas room and found her kneeling at her bed saying a prayer. When she was done I asked her what she was doing? She said I was praying for our baby I do every day! She is always praying for our family and her faith has brought us many blessings. Kaiya is not shy she is very outgoing and makes friends easily.

She loves to dance , sing and dress up! Kaiya is happy and loves to laugh. She is so helpful around the house . she is very determined and when she has her mind set on something , that is what she is going to do!!!!! I know she will grow up to be a strong women with these great qualities. She loves her brother and sister so much and I love her with all my Heart ! What would I do without Kaiya!

Kaiya is our spirited child. She looks just like me, but has matts personality
she loves attention. She is into posing "Hey mom take a picture of this or
do you think this is a good one? This is her almost falling pose.

Sometime believe it or not she talks back or throws major temper tantrum and get in trouble.
bless her little heart! I went to take a shower after breakfast and left the kitchen a mess! and to
my surprise( Had no idea she could do what she did) Had put all the dishes in the dishwasher
wiped down the counter and when I came out this is what I saw! She said "Mom I felt so bad
That you were so mad at me I cleaned up for you!"( Major guilt on my part) I love her so much
she is a sweetheart and loves to help matt and me with the house.

Easter morning the Easter bunny brought Kaiya and Taj giant sidewalk chalk! Like I said Kaiya
is like her dad and likes people to know she is around. She wrote her name in Giant Letters on
The side of the house in bright pink Chalk!!! Thank goodness it is chalk. I explained to her that it is sidewalk chalk and not house chalk.

Kaiya just got the junie b jones series. Really cute books this is the first one we read together. We laughed and thought it was really cute. But maybe it wasn't such a good "idea" to read this to my 6 year old with really good ideas!!!!

"Mom I wanted bangs, but it didn't work, I feel really bad for myself. Do you think we can cut it all the way off so you can't see it?" We always put a clip in it and wear it down and forward to hide it. She still looks cute as ever we love her fun spirit soo much!!!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Scotchie

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Scotchies

1 cup white sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1 1/2 cups chunky peanut butter (not the sugar free kind), 4 1/2 cups rolled oats (can do all old fashioned or do half old fashioned and half instant depending on your texture preferences), 2 tsp. vanilla extract, 3 whole eggs, 2 tsp baking soda, 1 bag of butterscotch chips, 3/4 cup chopped pecans.

Cream butter, peanut butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir in oats, soda, butterscotch chips and nuts until combined. Drop by spoonful on a greased cookie sheet or use parchment paper. Bake 350 degrees for 12 minutes (brown on bottom and some browning on top). Cool on cookie sheet 5 minutes before removing to cooling rack. Makes 72 cookies.

kaiya lost her first tooth

Kaiyas tooth had been loose for about 4 weeks. So I decided we
should tie a piece of dental floss around her little tooth. She was
laying down with her head on my lap. I told her to tug on it .
Every time she would tug I would make a funny face and cringe.
This turned into a game every time she tugged I cringed Kaiya
and taj would laugh. After about three minutes of this Kaiya
tugged , I cringed , they laughed, then I heard a little thhht.
Her tooth came out flew across the room and hit the wall! Kaiya
jumped up ran to the bathroom to see the new look.
She started jumping up and down laughing and screaming " Dad is
going to be so proud of me!" We searched the floor for her tooth and
found it and put it under her pillow after the many question. "Mom
where does the tooth fairy live, how old is she, how big is she, what
does she look like, how far away does she live, how long will it take
her to get here, will she be quiet?"....... and a few others. Matt the
tooth fairy put money under her pillow and forgot to take the tooth.
Matt told her "It must have been a new tooth fairy ! She gave you
money and let you keep your tooth too!"

five quirks or funny things about me.

I don't think I have ever responded to one of these things, but I do not want to let anyone down.
I guess I write 5 quirks or funny things about me then tag 6 other people well Here it goes.

1. I love having kids and adore being a mom, but I hate being pregnant and the first three weeks after.
2.I love to sleep!!! I would sleep in till 10 or 11 but I have 3 cute kids to take care of.
3. I hate cleaning the tub and shower. so my sweet husband does it!
4. I am terrified of getting old. Because I do not want wrinkles or to be crippled ( hard to walk or get around)
5.I do not like sharing my drinks with anyone. Germs kinda gross me out!
6.I don not love the cold weather. I would love to be barefoot all year long, but I do love playing games with friends and family in the winter months.

This year has been a very busy year for us! two moves a new baby and fun vacations. Matt biked in the hoodoo 500 in sept. 47 hours with only 3 hours of sleep and 30,000 feet of elevation. one month later he ran the javilina 100 23 hours straight in the arizona desert. He is an amazing athlete and very determined! Kaiya inherited this attribute from here dad! She is in Kindergarten and loves it! She is in Hip hop and ballet. She loves to pretend she is a teenager, loves to sing and dance. She lost her first tooth and is quite the fashion Queen! Taj is our easy goin guy! Peterson trait. He loves movies, horses, dogs and sharks! He often makes us laugh with the cute little things he says. He is three years old and loves to just play at home! Marley 6 months now and is crawling all over the place. She is such a happy baby! Always smiling! She is our best baby yet! Alissa loves being a mom and recently has gotten in to yoga. We just got back from a trip to costa rica. It was amazing! We played at the beach, went zip lining, Horse back riding, saw monkeys, crocodiles, and iguanas. We had quite the adventure driving on dirt roads, two flat tires, our car broken into( some hippies saw the guy throw his bear bottle through our window. They chased him down and beat him up and got matts cell phone back!) The Life in Costa rica was a great reminder of what is really important in life and it is family and friends and not the material things in the world. We are so greatful we had the opportunity to go! Life is still busy we are building a new home and hopefully will be moving in the next couple of weeks. I am anxious to get settled in and have life calm down a bit.

In Arenal the resort we stayed at had the
fastest water slides in the world! Matt
was having more fun than the kids!

We went Kaiaking in Samara. This beach also had
really small waves so Alissa could surf!
